Schedule

There will be three themes for classes, offered simultaneously in separate rooms at the venue. Students may choose to participate in one class per time slot, and do not need to participate in every class from each track.

This year's themes for classes are Lesser Known Classics (LNC), Advanced Technique & Flash (AT&F), Better Basics: Movement, Turns and Transitions (BB), Improvisation & Inspiration (I&I), Rhythm & Tap (R&T), Choreography & Performance Skills (C&P), Chorus Girls & Guys (CG&G), and Unusual Movement/Styles (UMS).

Class Level Descriptions:

Although classes are not "tracked" (students are welcome to attend classes at multiple levels), levels are provided to give you a guideline for difficulty so that you may have the best dance experience possible at the event.

  1. Little to no dance experience required. These classes will start at the foundations of solo jazz and help you build body awareness and vocabulary. Familiarity with solo jazz and swing dancing will be helpful but is not required.
  2. Some experience necessary. A basic knowledge of solo jazz vocabulary and some prior experience with solo jazz and/or lindy hop is needed. These classes will focus on expanding your dance repertoire and building your creativity, musicality, and technique.
  3. Considerable experience required. Students should have a solid knowledge of solo jazz vocabulary and strong prior dance skills. Teachers will move more quickly through material and focus on advanced concepts and techniques with the intent of challenging advanced dancers.

Please be aware the schedule is subject to change.
